Breakout Discussion: “No More Business As Usual”
Tonight, we are talking what it means to be aware of things that can dull our sense of urgency to do the will of God, and be ready when Jesus returns. We cannot do business as usual. Stay tuned for a special invitation announcement at the close of our small group this evening. So let us pray and dive into our lesson.
Breakout Passage(s):
Luke 21:34-36 NLT
[34] "Watch out! Don't let your hearts be dulled by carousing and drunkenness, and by the worries of this life. Don't let that day catch you unaware,
[35] like a trap. For that day will come upon everyone living on the earth.
[36] Keep alert at all times. And pray that you might be strong enough to escape these coming horrors and stand before the Son of Man."
Revelation 12:10-11 KJV
[10] And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
[11] And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Breakout Questions:
Q1: Have you noticed any activities, habits routines you must “Watch out” for that tend to dull your alertness to Jesus’ return? (sports, family matters, worries, work, indulgences, etc…)
Q2: With so many things in this world competing for our attention, and knowing we have been called to bear much fruit to the glory of God, what are some shifts that will be necessary for you as you prepare to compel people into the house of God?
Special Announcement: Testimonies are a powerful weapon to defeat the enemy. That’s why this coming Sunday, we will be featuring “Testimony Sunday”, where you will be able share a personal testimony of God’s goodness. If you would like to share your personal testimony this Sunday, please let us know so we can add you to our list. We can hardly wait to hear about how God has been blessing you! So come ready to share and be encouraged by testimonies during our special worship gathering this Sunday at Compel City at 10am.
Benediction: Jude 1:24-25
