Breakout Discussion: “Removing Stumbling Blocks”
If you said “Ouch” to Sundays message entitled Remove Your Stumbling Blocks, it’s okay. It’s a sign you’re spiritually sensitive enough to the word of God to feel where He’s cutting and pruning you to bear fruit for the glory of God. As we mature as believers in Christ Jesus, we see that God is not only concerned about us, but He’s also concerned about those He is adding to the church. Tonight, we discuss some of the challenges and necessities we may face when it comes to removing our stumbling blocks. Let us Pray.
Breakout Passage(s):
Romans 14:12-13 NLT
[12] Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God.
[13] So let's stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause another believer to stumble and fall.
(Amplified Version) [13] Then let us not criticize one another anymore, but rather determine this—not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block or a source of temptation in another believer’s way.
Galatians 5:13-16 NLT
[13] For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don't use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.
[14] For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
[15] But if you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out! Beware of destroying one another.
[16] So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won't be doing what your sinful nature craves.
