Breakout Discussion: “Growing In Worship”

Perhaps you noticed that Purpose Sundays have been echoing a theme on the subject of Worship. So for our breakout discussion for tonight, we continue talking about how worship is important to hearing from God. Let’s pray.

Heavenly Father, You Are The God Who has made us and not we ourselves. Now Lord, make us to know and grow to understand more about what it means to worship You. These things we ask in Jesus name.

Breakout Scripture(s):

John 9:31, Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth..

Breakout Questions:

Q1: Are we waiting on God to answer us, or Is God waiting on us to answer Him thru our worship?

Q2: How is “the will of God” part of worshipping the Lord?

Q3: We know weapons defeat the enemy. On Sunday, the evangelist said, “Worship is a weapon.” According to 1John 5:1-5, what more can we understand about worship?

1 John 5:1-5 KJV

[1] Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

[2] By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

[3] For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

[4] For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

[5] Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
