Breakout Discussion: “Why Legacy Matters”
Sundays message entitled The Legacy Continues was not only designed to illustrate the importance being legacy carriers of what’s truly valuable to us as believes but encouraging parents see to it that their faith is transferred to the generations that follow. Tonight, let’s have a robust discussion about legacy and pray God give His people the grace to leave a good inheritance behind.
Breakout Passage(s):
2 Timothy 1:5-7 KJV
When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also. [6] Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. [7] For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Proverbs 13:22 KJV
A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just
Legacy (definition): a legacy represents the long lasting impact, values and traditions that a person leaves behind for future generations.
Breakout Questions:
Q1: What responsibilities come with being a carrier of a good legacy?
Q2: What would you say to the parent who has a good legacy to leave the next generation but they struggle with discouragement because of how their children are making decisions right now? How would you encourage them to persevere?
Q3: Above all else, as followers of Jesus, what things should be part of the legacy we leave for future generations?
Pray God bless the legacy carriers and the next generation of legacy receivers.
Benediction: Jude 1:24-25
