Discipleship Stages
Here at Compel City, we believe that we are all called to be disciples of Jesus Christ. Our vision and mission is clear! We not only want to be disciples, we want to make disciples.
Stage One

People at this stage are like newborn babies craving spiritual milk so they can grow in their salvation. People at this stage are spiritually alive. They have made a decision to follow Jesus, but that’s about as far as they’ve gotten.

Limited availability to serve
Want to learn more about what it means to be a disciple
Stage Two

People in this people are continuing to grow in their relationship with God, and they are beginning to grow in their relationship with other Christians as well. They have learned enough of the Christian language and teachings of Jesus to be able to converse with other believers.

Make themselves available to serve
Aren’t afraid to talk to others about Jesus and what it means to be a Christian
Stage Three

People at this level are making the shift from being self-centered to being God and others centered. They are re-orienting their lives around God‘s word God‘s people and God‘s mission. They understand that God has called them to give to the body of Christ.

Involved in ministering to others
Put the needs of others first and being doers of the word
They serve for the right reason because of what Jesus has done for them.
Strong desire to serve God and do it with zeal energy and joy that the spirit provides
Understand that God has created them for a purpose and their priorities have started to change.
They look for places to serve in Ministries to help the local church
Speak or teach larger groups of people
They are growing less judgmental and find it easier to overlook others faults
Stage Four

People at this stage are actively and Faithfully involved in leading larger groups, supervising leaders who serve in various ministries, teaching, modeling, examining, correcting, advising, counseling, reviewing, rethinking, reorganizing, planning, building (edifying), building curriculum, establishing structure and systems for efficiency, building platforms for discipleship, team building, appreciating and celebrating, equipping, ordaining, sending.
